Strategy
Strategy & Organisational Performance
Closing the gap between what the organisation intends and what it actually does.
The challenge
What we usually find
- The strategy is sound, but performance is not following.
- Functions are optimising locally while the organisation underperforms as a whole.
- Nobody can say with confidence where execution is breaking down.
What good looks like
Where organisations want to get to
- A small number of priorities that everyone can name and act on.
- Structure, roles, measures and behaviours that pull in the same direction.
- Leaders who review performance honestly and adjust quickly.
In practice
From developing strategy to making it happen
We work with organisations at different points in the strategy process. Sometimes the challenge is deciding where the organisation is going and making the choices that give that direction real meaning. In other situations, the strategy already exists but something is getting lost between the decisions made by the senior team and what actually happens across the organisation.
Our work can therefore begin with strategy development or with the challenge of execution. We help boards and leadership teams work through priorities, make choices and create alignment, but we also look at what the organisation will need in order to deliver. That can take the conversation into structure, roles, leadership, capability, measures and accountability. In our experience, it is often these connections that determine whether a strategy becomes part of how the organisation operates or remains something people periodically return to in a planning meeting.
How Clemorton helps
The way we work
- We diagnose where strategy, leadership, people and execution have become disconnected.
- We help senior teams translate strategy into decisions, accountabilities and rhythms.
- We stay involved through implementation, where most strategies quietly fail.
